Postcards from home

Have you ever sat waiting for a letter to be delivered in the mail?

The anticipation. The excitement.

I can recall distinctly as a child waiting by the letterbox for a letter, a postcard, something, anything…the anticipation of news from faraway places…the excitement of a letter from my Nanna.

Even now, the yearning for news of different places remains strong.

‘Postcards from home’ is a letter to my childhood self. A letter for that blonde-haired, cheeky-grinned five-year-old waiting ever-so-patiently by the letterbox.

With each watercolour sketch, I am transported. Each concertina serves as an homage to the details of places I have visited, places I have called home.

Enjoy!
