Source of Light. SOL. Soleil. Ein Shams.
The sun and her various monikers.
Gold. Ochre. Saffron. The rich earthly spices of light. All shimmery and incandescent.
I grew up under the sunny skies of Queensland. My childhood is studded with sun-soaked memories. Countless hours counting grains of sand under the scorching summer sun. Of seeking gentle reprieve under the shade of loose-limbed sheoaks.
When I look back at my life, I can see just how much of it has been solar-powered. Time spent searching for the glitter. The feeling of radiance beating down on skin. Eyes closed, absorbing. Glowing and warm.
Is it any wonder that ancient civilisations worshipped the sun? Source of Light (SOL for short) is inspired by sunshine and all that it embodies.
SOL is a place for the curious. For the artists and the seekers. For those with a desire to learn, and who are not afraid to play and experiment. Who seek beauty in the mundane. Who live in search of awe and wonder.
For those who see the world a little differently and aren’t afraid to stop and smell the roses along the way.
